This is a fragrance with plenty to say, apparently, and aims to empower women “with their own love”. Are they saying ‘love yourself’? A good thing on the whole I’d say, but wait. Aptly named, this scent is about being selfish, sensual and though I can’t say I’d personally ever use this as a positive, “narcissistic”, though only in regards to fashion. Hopefully.
Frankly I find it all a little off-putting, including the packaging.
I think what they’re going for here, is perfume as an accessory. It’s for women who love fashion, love Lanvin, and want to absorb its elegance and style. Here is the solution girls; this one comes with a gold chain and a little jewel adorning the bottle for you to play with.
Moving on swiftly, the scent itself is a fruity floral with top notes of mandarin and blueberry. Yum. The middle notes are a tuberose and rose absolue, giving way to liquorice black wood and sandalwood base notes. The “sparkling blueberry” was added as a key note by perfumer Domitille Bertier who wanted to add the signature blue of Lanvin. ME is sweetened by the zesty fruitiness of the mandarin, a fruit originating from China and often seen as a symbol of good fortune. I should think you’re going to need it if you take all that narcissism business on board.
