Guerlain L'Essentiel Foundation
My everyday make up routine is mostly made up of Guerlain products, which have become my holy grail! I found love when I tried the Parure Gold which is and I think always will be my absolute go to foundation, however, having read the hype behind the latest Guerlain foundation launch L’Essentiel I was eager to give it a go. Although initially more lightweight than my go to, it’s great because it’s buildable to a medium coverage which is just what I look for in a foundation, a full coverage just isn’t for me!
Having researched and tried the product I have found that some YouTubers/Bloggers are unfairly reviewing it. You cannot negatively review this product based on the fact you don’t like the coverage when you would normally opt for a high coverage foundation, this doesn’t make it a bad product, but perhaps just not to your taste!
I have personally tried and tested and I can honestly say L’Essentiel does exactly what it’s branded as.
L’Essentiel is made up of 97% naturally derived ingredients, which enhance the skins natural glow and luminosity, leaving a fresh faced look; all the while it’s allowing your skin to breath, with a lasting power of up to 16 hours.
With a fantastic shade range there is most definitely a shade to suit every kind of complexion, with cool, neutral and warm undertones.
Personally I prefer a neutral toned base (02N), as I like to use the terracotta sun trio to warm up my complexion, followed by delilah’s blush in shade dusk on the apples of my cheeks.
For me L’Essentiel is perfect for spring/summer months as it’s the time where I feel my skin has more of a natural glow which I don’t want to hide under foundation; instead I want to embrace it.
When applied with the L’Essentiel retractable foundation brush, it creates the perfect smooth base for the rest of your make-up. It ensures the product is applied evenly and without any streaks, again creating the natural almost bare faced look.
Someone who wears this look so well is Meghan Markle, as proved on her wedding day!
Another thing I would like to point out is, a little of this product goes a long way, and for me completely justifies its price tag.
